What is HEIC, and why convert it to JPG?
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the default photo format on modern iPhones. It saves space — roughly half the size of a JPG at the same quality — but many websites, apps, and Windows PCs can't open it.
JPG is the universal image format: every browser, device, and marketplace accepts it. Converting HEIC to JPG makes your iPhone photos usable everywhere.
One converter for every format (the fast way)
Whether you need HEIC to JPG, JPG to PDF, PDF to JPG, or WebP to JPG, you don't need a different tool for each. Our online image converter covers every direction in one place: upload your file, pick the target format, and download.
It runs entirely in your browser — no install, no signup, no watermark, and the file never leaves your device. It works on iPhone, Mac, and Windows, finishing each file in seconds.
How to convert HEIC to JPG on iPhone, Mac & Windows
On iPhone, the lowest-effort setting is Settings ▸ Photos ▸ Transfer to Mac or PC ▸ Automatic, which exports JPG instead of HEIC when you import. For a single photo, a one-click online converter in Safari is fastest.
On Mac, Preview opens HEIC and exports JPG via File ▸ Export ▸ JPEG. On Windows 10/11, install the free HEIF Image Extension from the Microsoft Store to open HEIC, then re-save — or just use an online converter and skip the install.
How to convert JPG to PDF (and any image to PDF)
Converting JPG to PDF is an everyday task for sellers and offices: bundle product photos, receipts, or contracts into a single PDF to send to clients or upload to a platform. With our converter, upload a JPG (or JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC), choose PDF as the target, and download.
That makes 'image to PDF,' 'photo to PDF,' and 'JPEG to PDF' all the same workflow — any image format becomes a PDF in one step.
How to convert PDF to JPG
Going the other way, PDF to JPG lets you pull individual pages out of a document as standalone images for web pages, social posts, or product galleries. Upload the PDF, choose JPG (or PNG) as the target, and each page is exported as an image.
Pick PNG for pages that need a transparent background, or JPG for smaller files with near-universal support. The whole process runs in your browser, so the PDF is never uploaded to a server.
How to convert WebP to JPG
WebP is a modern format built for the web — small files — but many older apps, editors, and upload forms still don't accept it. Converting WebP to JPG makes it open and uploadable anywhere.
Upload the WebP file, choose JPG as the target, and download. Quality stays almost identical, and compatibility is instant.
Are JPG and JPEG the same? What about PNG?
JPG and JPEG are the exact same format with different filename extensions (.jpg and .jpeg). Converters treat them identically — so 'convert JPEG to JPG' doesn't really require conversion; a rename does it.
PNG is different: it supports transparent backgrounds and is common for logos and cut-outs. You can convert PNG to JPG (transparent areas become white), PNG to PDF, or JPG to PNG — all in the same converter.
Image format comparison: HEIC, JPG, PNG, WebP
HEIC: smallest files, good quality, but weak compatibility — mainly iPhone. Best for local storage.
JPG: the most compatible format, moderate file size, supported almost everywhere. Best for sharing, uploads, and e-commerce main images.
PNG: supports transparency and is lossless, but file sizes are larger. Best for logos, icons, and anything needing a transparent background.
WebP: smaller than JPG and supports transparency; all modern browsers support it, but some older software doesn't. Best for speeding up web pages.
HEIC vs JPG: quality and size
HEIC preserves slightly more detail at about half the file size, but JPG's near-universal support makes it the safer choice for sharing, uploading, and selling online.
Converting HEIC to JPG at high quality keeps the photo looking the same while making it open anywhere.
